KOS-MOS Model (and possibly other Xenosaga Models)
8 replies, posted
First off, I want to apologize if this in the wrong thread. I have and do know a way of ripping models from Xenosaga Ep. III. However, alot of work is still needed to repair/fix the model. Due to my busy schedule, I have not been able to fully fix the KOS-MOS model. If anyone here is willing to do so, please give me a private message or post below with your email so that I can send the file. Lastly, the model ripping process is about roughly 3-4 large parts, apart from getting set up. Basically, it's filling in for the missing Z-Axis, fix any hair vertices (mainly goes for long hair characters), color fixing the textures (they have the RGB values inverted), and placing the textures on the model. Again, if anyone is interested, give me your email in a message or post below.
Incomplete Models:
KOS-MOS V.3
KOS-MOS V.4
KOS-MOS Swimsuit
KOS-MOS V.1 (It's in Ep. III as a special suit)
Let me know which format is best to send it under
Ripping Process:
In case anyone wants to do it from square one or rip for themselves, I have placed a link where I've learned to do such. However, PLEASE DO NOT ask the person to give you any said models. He seems for some reason to not give any of his work. So please do not ask him.

Best format to put them up as would be .3ds (if they have bones) or .obj (if they don't have bones), as they are the formats that most if not all modelling programs can open ^^ Or alternatively you could put them up as SMDs as everyone here will have some way of opening them (as its the Source model source format).
Thanks for the tip. Also, a small request to whomever helps. If you can give back to me a fixed model, I would greatly appreciate that. Any additions are merely a bonus to the community if one desires to make ragdolls, playermodels, etc. out of the models.
*Bump* I figure it's my own thread so I should be allowed. Anywho, I wanted to show that I do have the incomplete models and wasn't just blowing smoke.

mario explains how to fix that by 'unifying the normals' using a modifier.
Thanks for the advice. The thing is, with the method I use to rip the model, the hair is destroyed. Using that method you gave me won't fix the hair. Sorry about the confusion, I just wanted to show how they looked. But again, thanks for that help as I still need to fix the normals none the less. There's another method that preserves the whole model, but it destroys/blows up the UV map of the model.
Sorry i can't be of more help. :saddowns:
No it's perfectly fine, I appreciate the help and the guides. They'll come in handy later on. I don't know when these models will be done, but I plan to have them done before I die (I hope at least).
