Where is it?
I come into this forum and all I see is random threads about random models, skins, animations, weapons, players, npc replacements, ect.
Do you really expect the casual browser to be able to find absolutely anything they may be looking for without haphazardly stumbling over it by pure coincidence? It's call organization, aka Weapons, Player Models, Ragdolls, Props, ect human beings have been using it since they crawled out from nature's womb. I can't really come up with any good reason for the lack of organization here, especially this section (other than the negligible increase in maintaining extra sections)
I mean not even Gmod.org is close to being organized, it would take a few hours to get the necessary things in place to have this place organized and yet years have gone by any no one mentions it.
Yes, the reason I bring this up is because I'm looking for a few weapon models and player models (particularly citizen sets) and am struggling frantically to stay afloat in this ocean of random content, but I assure you this is not the first nor last time I'll be screwed by the lack of organization here.
Please tell me you agree.
I think the sections are fine as it is, if we have a subforum for each category, it will just get too cluttered.
We're fine with the Releases and Requests.
If you're looking for something specific, use the search function.
The releases section is just for the new releases for people to talk about, the search tool is used for extensive searching. But if you're really looking for something, i think garrysmod.org is your best bet.
Ever heard of search?
Try searching first before asking.
Look, you were lucky enough to get 4 stacks of the same response.
... I think you should try using the search function.
Since everyone above seems to have said the exact same thing I don't need to quote anyone individually. Of course you all approached this thread with the expected biased towards anything that suggests a change.
I'm very well aware of the search function, I fail to see how a search textbox automatically replaces categories and proper organization, although thanks for the laugh from seeing 5 posts in a row saying the same thing.
Also, as I've stated in the OP, Garrysmod.org has the same organization as these threads; there is a search bar to find what you are looking for.
What's wrong with the search feature alone? Hmm, maybe its the fact that it is very inaccurate because people have varying names for their threads and may not even mention whether or not their specific release is a playermodel, ragdoll, or prop. What if I'm looking for a rifle but don't have an exact idea of what I want? If this section was organized I could just browse the RELEASES->Weapons category.
Really all I'm suggesting is basic organization. For those who have ADHD/ADD: search box ≠ organized/categorized sections.

Oh right right, if we organize things from a huge blob to organized categories things will get too cluttered. You're totally right man I can't believe I didn't see the obvious fallacies in my thinking.
Let my shitty photoshop be an example.
The categories look dumb and aren't even usefull for most releases because most people pack a bunch of stuff in one download.
And then there's people that will just ignore the sections entirely and post them in the main model releases.

Haha that's actually pretty funny, thanks for at least taking the time to create a concept work.
I don't see what looks dumb about it though... just looks like... categories really...
People that post all their shit in one post are the most annoying of them all and will obviously stop doing such when categories come into play. People will not post shit in the main release because there will be no main release, there will be a misc category for anything that doesn't go in the other categories.
It would be very difficult to organize.
People aren't so sure of whether their model belongs in the playermodels or ragdolls section because they may have both of them.
