I was just wondering as to why no one has tackled the task of exporting Spiral Knights models into 3DS max/mod tool or any other 3D model program to rig for Source. I really love the designs of them. Thanks!

There's a model viewer, but as the viewer is running on Java, there aren't any model rippers that I know of that can rip from it

Unfortunately, I don't believe Clyde has an importer for 3DS Max, just an exporter, which is a shame really.

SpiralSpy can export to .XML, which Max can open, but it needs a custom plugin for it. As of now, no one's made a plugin that can read Spiral Knight's .XML.
Doesn't Blender have a .xml importer plugin? Or does the plugin have to specify certain .xml files, such as SpiralSpy .xmls?

.XML isn't a standardized structure
If it's going to be imported, someone's gonna need to write a plugin that's made SPECIFICALLY for the .XML files that SpiralSpy spits out
