I think this has turned into a semi-annual ritual, just in case anyone's found it. I know that Dragbody was trying to rip from Terminator Salvation, the game, but he encountered a problem with his copy of the game and I don't know if he got anywhere. So I figured the best option was to post my request again. I'm looking for ripped/ported models (Doesn't have to be in Source yet, just usable in a modeling program) of the Resistance fighters from Terminator: Salvation as seen here: This time, I'm asking because we don't have a lot of post-apocalyptic looking models, and more specifically, we don't have any models that have the Mad Max-sort of look that these ones have. A Russian guy apparently ported some, but only two of them and his download links have long vanished.
Sorry for bumping, but does anyone know of a source for raw models for these, or know how to get them?
Apparently the game uses the diesel engine, and i've heard of rumors where it's unrippable. Which is odd because people got models from Payday and that uses the same engine.

Wait, if we can rip from Payday, can the same tools be used for Salvation?

Yeah, S-Low had John Connor, Barnes, Blair Williams, and some of the Terminators and Skynet vehicles. Textures weren't the best quality and the player ragdolls weren't rigged very well, either. I'd probably chalk it up to just being from years ago so it wasn't as good as they could be now, but there's loads of content that was never touched at least to my knowledge.
Maybe NinjaRipper works on this? Would be a bitch to find the models but not impossible.
Could be. I mean, I'd try this myself but I don't have a copy of the game and I've never worked with ninjaripper, so I was holding out on the possibility that someone with ripping and porting knowledge happened to have the game and would be willing to do that.
I'll try it out and upload whatever i find.
I don't think anyone ported any good terminator robots at all. Either I'm not looking hard enough, or they were taken down or something. Would love to be proven wrong, though.
The 600's in S-Low's pack weren't *Horrible,* in fact they were pretty nice. Joazz's scratch-built drones are the best ones by far, though.
The problem I had is that when I unpacked my xbox version of the disc, not everything extracted that was needed. Then, when I bought a PC version of the disc, it turned out to be a defective copy of the disc that had been recalled. It was pretty disappointing. I ended up talking to another guy who unpacked the PC version, but had the same problems I had with the xbox disc. Luxox uses a different method of obtaining models from the diesel engine. He got a lot from Wanted that I didn't see when I unpacked the game. Bionic Commando was on the same engine too. So I think our best chance is to hope luxox gets around to posting the Salvation eventually.
There's actual a few good robots in the game. I believe even RoboCop made an appearance as a Easter-egg.
If this is true, I demand a picture
*Scrubbed*
yeah sorry but your friend was bullshitting you, robocop was nowhere to be found in the game. that RvT comic was fucking amazing tho the only robot that hasn't been ported in any form yet is the T-7T walker bot thing

Havent gotten that far in the game, so just took this captain as an example. Textures really arent the best. But maybe the bump maps and specs will give them some extra spark.
YES!
i might acquire this and grab some shit
I'll look into this some more on friday and upload what i find :)
i will upload them, but i have 2 problems, all animated scenes are pre-rendered and i cant rip corpses in T-pose; thats means only few models http://www.spriters-resource.com/community/showthread.php?tid=22691
any vechiles ?
How hot is a vechile? Here's kind of a nerdy thought. What if you could repack the Terminator archives using a head modelled after Christian Bale (from, say, Batman Begins) and then you used the model of Hicks from the new colonial marines. Then you'd have John Connor and Kyle Reese with models based on the real-life actors. (The guy who played Hicks in the Alien movies played Reese in the first Terminator if you didn't know.) In any case, I'm glad others are getting the models now.

debris and ruins would be really handy too
These would be cool, but still would love to see someone hack together some decent Jim Cameron Tech-Com guys.
These would be cool, but still would love to see someone hack together some decent Jim Cameron Tech-Com guys.
yeah the original resistance was the best the camo-jacket-and-field-cap guy could serve as a base for the T2 version of adult John Connor
