• Combine Animation Patch WIP

Just a WIP of my animation patch for the Combine. When I'm done, the CPs will have AR2, RPG, Melee, and Shotgun animations; and the Combine Soldiers'Prison Guards/Elites will have Pistol, Stunstick, and RPG animations. Wait...so basically, any combine will be able to use any weapon? Combine with RPG's, that's a deadly combination...given they ever fire, which has always been a problem for a lot of npc's.

Oh yeah, and just so you guys know, I decided to expand my goal with these models and make them "All-Purpose Combine Models". In other words, you could have CPs be Elites, Elites be CPs, and all the other combinations. I might even make an MDL to replace the combine_animations.mdl that holds all of this. By the way, do you guys want me to include the Beta Textures like the one in the 1st pic?

Combine with RPG's, that's a deadly combination...given they ever fire, which has always been a problem for a lot of npc's.[/QUOTE] Well the Combine still can use Pistols, Stunsticks, etc even without proper animations, it just looks weird that whenever you spawn a Combine Soldier, it goes to the ragdoll pose but the gun is still being shot, I'm trying to give it animations for any situation anyone can put it in. It is a deadly combination, but I've never seen a Combine Soldier fire an RPG at me in GMOD. In SMOD, CPs and the rest of the Combine will shoot RPGs at you, as long as they're in a distance safe enough so that they won't get hurt by the RPG. I guess if anyone was planning on making a Combine RPG Soldier SNPC, this pack would already have half the work done for them.

This was done in SMOD a long time ago.
Not exactly. In SMOD, they only had combat animations and only for the CPs; the Combine soldiers would still go to the minge bag pose if you gave them an RPG or a USP.

My question is, are you adding the animations separately, or merely including the other animation files? If you're doing the latter, there will be conflicts with two different animations with the same ACT. For example, combine soldiers who also have metrocop animations will constantly alternate between metrocop smg1 fire animations and combine_soldier smg1 fire animations.

For V1, I'll leave that alone because the CP has a lot of animations but once V2 goes underway, I'll correct it.
