Failed to load .vtx of model

When i sometimes spawn in ragdolls and npcs, some don't appear, I can see their shadow only. This is the message i got when spawning in a ragdoll

MDLCache: Failed load of .VTX data for characters/jontron/jontron.mdl

and

MDLCache: characters/jontron/jontron.mdl needs to be recompiled

and all of my hl2 ragdolls have black eyes :( plz help

(what number is your "mat_dxlevel" console variable set to?)

Well it's running either dx 8, 8.1 or 9.1x

One time i put in the lauch options -dxlevel81, but soon after i deleted that command

try mat_dxlevel 90 then set model quality to high in advanced video options
