I'm trying to make custom spy masks, and i don't know how/where to find them in the TF folder, nor do i know how to edit them in a way that removes the current class faces, but not the papery texture. I'd like some help with this, if you would.
u want to remove his balaclava mask, right?
well if u do this by adding transparency on the face texture, it will only left the eyes and mouth skin since the mask is part of the head model.
u can also turn all the head invisible (minus the cigarette) by adding a vmt file with a "nodraw" parameter.
spy head/face texture will be located on the .cgf file on your steam folder called "team fortress 2 materials.cgf"
search it at "tf\materials\models\player\spy" to retreat the files u need.
then put the modified files at "C:\Program files\Steam\steamapps\*username*\team fortress 2\tf\materials\models\player\spy"
The textures for the paper disguise masks can be found in the client directory:
Steam/Steamapps/<yourusername>/team fortress 2/tf/materials/models/player/spy
or in the GCF directory:
base/tf/materials/models/player/spy
As for a blank template, I made a relatively simple one that can be found here in TGA format, and here in VTF format.
