I think he meant the ammo types like Cryo, Disrupter, Incendiary, and Warp.
I looked through the files and all I could find was the mesh for what flashes along the barrel when you just throw up the ammo type, I couldn't find a model for the little shield with the ammo type on it so it must be done through a sprite.
