How do I convert .3ds file to .mdl (For use it in Garry's Mod)?

I am a beginner on Modelling so I have a lot of questions and this is one of them.
I have a folder that contains a .3ds file and textures but I don't know how to make it work in Garry's Mod as a ragdoll.
How do I convert .3ds file to .mdl (For use it in Garry's Mod)?
