• Getting flexes to work when headhacking

Me again with the noobish modelling issues. I did some searching through the forums and got some info on this, but need a little more assistance. I'm working on headhacking and so far have at least been able to get models into game and almost completely working. The issue I'm running into is that when I attach a head from a model with one type of skeleton onto a body from a model with a different type of skeleton, face posing/flexes either get quite messed up or stop working completely- eye posing too and probably also finger flexes. I'm using the same VTA file for the model the head came from, and copy pasting its flexes from its QC, but still no dice. From what I understand from a lot of a google searching and forum searching, unless you are grafting a head onto a body with the exact same type of skeleton, this is an unavoidable hurdle. But I know people manage to get heads onto bodies with different bones (the models I've been decompiling for my hacks have done just that to begin with). So tl;dr: how do you headhack and get working face/eye/finger flexes without having to completely rebuild a VTA file from scratch? Is that even possible or do I have some long nights ahead of me of learning how to build VTAs from the ground up?
