Hey all, I am trying to get the UPK files for characters and maps from Hi-Rez's game Paladins in Umodel and all I get is this error:
appDecompress: unknown compression flags: 514
appDecompress:CompSize=39020 UncompSize=131072 Flags=0x202 <- DecompressBlock:block=20CD+986C <- FUE3ArchiveReader::PrepareBuffer <- FUE3ArchiveReader::Serialize <- FArchive::ByteOrderSerialize <- FString<< <- Name:0 <- UnPackage::LoadNameTable <- UnPackage::UnPackage:ChaosGame/CookedPCConsole/Startup.upk, ver=893/0, game=8000 <- UnPackage::LoadPackage:startup_xxx <- UnPackage::CreateImport:ChaosGame/CookedPCConsole/TYRA_ASSETS_SF.upk:495 <- UnPackage::SerializeUObject <- TArray::Serialize:0/1 <- SerializeFMaterialResource <- LoadObject:Material3'TYRA_ASSETS_SF.MAT_DF_Fire_A', pos=546802, ver=893/0, game=8000 <- UObject::EndLoad <- CUmodelApp::ShowPackageUI <- Main:umodel_version=535
Please halp, oh and enjoy yourselves chatting about Paladins k?
The game is using a newer version of unreal engine that UPK Unpacker cannot unpack. This is common for most indie studios to do to keep people from ripping their assets, it's what Squad is doing for their models as well. There's no fix for this unless you somehow manage to get an older version of the game.

Here's some awesome models. I just need to know how I can grab the rest of the crew. D:
What i've used once is Unreal Engine's own UnrealPak.exe
Then, i've gone through Gildor's UModel and got some stuff from mobile game.
I think you should try.

I actually ripped Pip and Drogoz from Paladins.
You can't use UModel to extract the models, seeing as the game files are encrypted.
I don't remember much but I basically got the model files by providing own UE3ShaderCompileWorker.exe to the game files so that I could force it into OpenGL mode and use an OpenGL ripper of some sorts that I don't remember the name for now since it's been almost 4 months now.
Pretty sure Hi-Rez patched it at this point and it's no longer possible because they did notice after posting about it on the official paladins subreddit.
You could try your luck with NinjaRipper though!
EDIT:
Also the colors look pretty off when you use the method I used
