i know the game just came out yesterday and i played through the 1st episode as soon as it released, and figured i'd try to extract or rip some of the models (telltale games is also very common for model extraction alot i've noticed) i tried Telltale Explorer and can't get it to open any of the .ttarch2 files like on their other games, i also tried 3D Ripper and NinjaRipper and no luck either
Don't use Telltale Extractor, it never supports the newest games right away. Use TTArchExt to extract 'em.
My Telltale Almost All-in-One Importer MaxScript for 3DS Max will let you import the D3DMESH files from that game (you'll need to manually pick the right .SKL file!). Then just use the respective QuickBMS script to convert the D3DTX files into DDS, which you can then open in anything that supports that format.
(EDIT: Oh, forgot to mention. The models and textures are in the "_txmesh" archives, but the SKL files which you'll also need are in the "_data" archives.)
thanks alot! but idk what script to use for QuickBMS to convert the textures to .dds, all i see about that is "remember to use the -m option to dump the FONT and D3DTX files as DDS and the AUD as OGG but do NOT use this option if you plan to rebuild the ttarch archive!." i've used QuickBMS before so i know how to use scripts but don't know what script to use

This one would be the correct one.
But yeah, TTArch can't actually convert the textures itself, so you don't need to worry about the "-m" command. Just "ttarchext 58 (input).ttarch2 (outputfolder)" will work.

sorry for bringing this back up again, but when i try to apply the .dds texture to the model in 3ds max they are just a grey color, the UV maps don't seem to be correct or something or the textures are too small, cause they look very small

I dont know how to fix the uv yet, but for the grey textures, you can downlpad a program called picopixel, that will allow you to export the dds file to a tga file, and if you 3d modeling program doesnt support tga's, just export the tga to a png.
Bump, Jesse files extracted but uv is messed up, help, blender rendered torso uv :
I'll have to look into that soon, admittedly I never tested it entirely with texture mapping.

I don't know if my definition of a UV is correct just deal with it
I think the UV problem is the only issue , everything else works fine
I just really want rueben :D
