3DSmax SMD animation export changing all bone parents

Im getting this error when exporting animation SMDs, where is changes all bone parents to "ROOT" or "Scene Root". I have tested on a CAT rig I made, and one of Maxof2sds CAT rigs, and I get the same problem. Ive hidden everything in the other layers so just the bone structure is visible as exactly seen in one of the tutorial vids, but im still getting the problem on compile such as:
[b]illegal parent bone replacement in sequence "idle"
"Holster" has "ROOT", reference has "Bip01 Pelvis"[/b] (for every single bone)
Ive even updated my [url=http://www.wunderboy.org/3dapps.php#max_vta_exp]SMD Importer/Exporter[/url] plugins to 1.6 to no avail.
