So here are some models I ripped from Conquest. I will rip more later on, mostly what is left of the Gondor troops, Flags and perhaps some rohan or elvish stuff, and if someone needs anythig else. Also it's worth noting that whole maps can be extracted with Ninja too.
Shoulder Belts are can be removed, and most faces and helmet can be interchanged.
Models are in .obj format.
So this first pack contains:
Arnor Infantry (Multiple faces/Multiple Hairs/Helmet)
Arnor Soldier
Isildur
Citadel Guard (With and without Flag)
Gondor Soldier (Multiple faces)
Gondor Captain (Multiple faces)
Gondor Captain Shire (multiple hair)
Gondor Archer Hood
Gondor Archer Helmet
Gondor Infantry
Gondor Mage
Gondor Infantry
Gondor Horse (multiple saddle/hair/skin)
Sword
Longsword
Dagger
Arrnor Shield (not from Conquest)
Throwing Axe
Anduril
Mage Staff
Gondor Ram
Crown
Flag
Capture Flag
Banner
Crown
You can actually delete the first pack I uploaded earlier as some of the textures weren't converted in the right way and lost some details.

Awesome work. It's always nice to see fresh, original content around here!
Good shit
Thank you, fellow! I vote for more LOTR game releases here.
Maybe Sauron next?
Great work on these, always wondered how Conquest managed to last nearly a decade without having more of its models ported.
Always thought their art style was weird; they did a pretty accurate rendition of Jackson's films but some of the models are just ever so slightly inaccurate and cartoony. Wish they had done more with the game, great potential with some terrible execution.
[editline]1st February 2017[/editline]
Additionally since you're porting LotR models from Conquest, any interest in porting the models from Turbine's/WB's LotRO? There are quite a variety that would be amazingly useful, particularly building and landscape meshes and some of the less over-the-top armors, and I've seen people thus far have success extracting some of the meshes.
I ported all of the models and made a thread. but I don't have the files anymore so I changed the thread and everything.

My request is for you to port the ORC Faction. :D
They have Oliphants!
Anyway I completely forgot those even appeared in the game. So here are all the Easterlings units appearing in conquest. I will update the first pack tomorrow because I noticed the compression I chose for textures with transparent things isn't right.
Also they are ripped but they aren’t ported yet, and probablyly not by me as to be fair I don’t really know much about porting something to Source, I know how to rig something for Skyrim on an old Blender version, but I haven’t given much thought about porting stuff to source yet. But since I’m able to provide the models...Hell why not.

I agree entirely with what you’ve said, most of it is accurate, but some of the models just don’t fit with the rest, and unfortunately it’s the orcs, thus you just keep seeing those orcs in pajamas with fire attacks. That’s the one thing that really keeps bugging me off. But it’s true, it had a lot of potential.
I haven’t considered ripping things from lotro yet, but I might one day.

Sauron was already ported on Gmod I think.

I see. Unfortunately the Orcs guys will come last. I just don’t like their design in this game. But even though they should be the last faction I rip they will come entirely. But I plan on ripping their Towers and Grond in a relatively short time.

Any chance for the Gondor scout?

I'll download it and help rip models aswell. Do you use Ninja Ripper? (I used that years ago. Even made a tutorial on ripping from this game lol)'
Well, for me Ninja Ripper doesn't work All .rip files are just blocks.

Yes, soon.

Well, there isn't much way to get Conquest models, so yes I'm using Ninja ripper 1.5.1 x86 with intruder inject and it gives me everything. Be careful though when you are ripping something with physics, like cloaks, flags or most wizards, as they are being ripped in their in game position, so it's best to wait for their rest pose when they are pretty much right, and then rip.
Also it would be great if there was a way to get access to the DLC contents on console as it have Boromir and a few more heroes in it.[t]https://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/image/upload/s--m6WkLyRy--/c_scale,fl_progressive,q_80,w_800/18j4xg2tx51o7jpg.jpg[/t]
There's some awesome stuff on this thread. Given how the engine used is the same as SWBF2, I'm going to wager somebody at some point will try to bring these into SWBF2.
Alright, so I fixed the textures that needed to be, and managed to find the missings original Normals and speculars of the models of the first pack. Somehow in some levels they seem to be there, but not in all levels.
You can actually delete the first pack I uploaded as some of the textures weren't converted in the right way and lost some details.
So I merged the first pack with both Arnor and the rest of Gondor units.

Also, which one should I extract next, Rohan or elves?
Rohan.
Thank you once more, Hexenjagd. Nice rip and clean OBJs with all textures. if you can, extract some elves, please! And maybe some elvish props like architecture, I dare hope to get my hand on this game stuff. (I mean architecture from game location Rivendell, it is shown here (http://conquestmania.synthasite.com/pictures.php). But if you decide to rip another locations, thank you too. They have cool Minas Morgul and Isengard. I tried Ninja Ripper on this game too, but havent't gone far to rip so many models. Haven't you found any 3d model of Barad-Dur in the game or it's just background picture?
By the way (Sorry for off-topic!), does anyone need Hi-Res textures for Shadow of Mordor ripped stuff? I looked for this stuff long ago and lately found at last how to get and extract them from Hd pack. Now I have almost all HD character textures, expect from Marwen and Erin (women). But the problem is I have not all meshes for these textures - ones I have I posted in my thread - https://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1530068. The other player and NPC meshes (Lithariel, Celebrimbor in Elvish form), trolls, caragors and 2 of 3 Black Captains) I an seeking so far. If you are interested, I can upload textures of characters, orcs and weapons, but hope you help me to find missing meshes.
(Usually I upload on mega and mediafire, I hope you have no problems with these storages).
Thanks, alright right after Rohan, I'll extract every single elves! Yes I have already "tried", by that I mean dumping the whole exctracted things in Blender to see what it did, with the intro sequence and Isengard. So most parts of the maps are extracted and come as in game, and if some parts aren't here I just have to rerip on the second part of the map, it isn't bad as they all come out aligned so what wasn't already there just come to complete the missing bits.
But there are some part of the map that can be placed afterward by the game and those will have to be placed manually, but it shouldn't be too much of a hassle to deal with, so far it was only the inside of Orthanc, and a platform in the middle of a pit.
As for Barad-Dur the one in the intro sequence was just a picture, but perhaps the one in the background of the Black Door map is a model, as the Minas Tirith in Pelennor's Field is a model. And yes I will extract Rivendell.
I would be really interested in those textures yes, (Celebrimbor and his weapons, Talion as captain of the watch and the other rangers, stuff like that!)
Oh also would you know if there is any way to extract models from War in the North too?
Nice job man, looking forward to getting these ingame! They look quite lovely

OK, I started uploading all useful textures on Mega and when it is finished, I'll post them in the same thread where I posted the links for meshes. There are both Celebrimbor as ghost and an elf and his bow and skins of Talion as base hero, beastmaster, Zainzadan (Power of Shadow DLC) and some "dark skin" (I don't remember what the skin of Captain looks like, but it may be also there). The all textures of Lithariel I found I put in her archive, so there is full set of her maps both for Talion's skin and for the girl herself. I found even a statue of Sauron in environmental maps. The single problem is that the HD pack lacks textures for other heroines (Marwen and Eryn), although they weren' the least characters in the game. Else there is a plenty of human rangers, slaves, orcs and orkish weapons and all monsters (trolls, caragors). As for environments, they have mostly seamless maps and I couldn't determine which models they belong to, so far they remain unsorted.
As for War in the North, I have not found any way to get its models expect from Ninja Ripper too, but it couldn't rip characters in T-Pose. One time I managed to get T-posed Legolas, but for others they came out in custom game poses. For architecture and weapons Ninja Ripper is more useful, but to get the full scene of any location you'd better to rip it several times from different points of view, because the ripper gets the nearest parts of the scene fully and others with missing pieces. So far I could get several Rivendell houses and several weapons, but drowned in the sea of randomly ripped textures, and mostly the models remain untextured yet. Maybe LOTR Conquest is easier to rip.
One guy at xentax forums wrote that he used his own hex-editing program Hex to OBJ and any hex editor to convert any ciphered models to OBJ, and he could do it with a random sample model with .dat extension from War in the North which I uploaded to that forum, but for me hex editing is a high magic, so I cannot use this method. The link of the tool and its description is here - http://forum.xentax.com/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=10894. Ripping is a simpler way.
Another good ripper for WITN is 3DRipperDX 1.8.2, I used it for large scenes like this one - http://i71.fastpic.ru/big/2015/0616/72/e97f30d86f9fd2ca11fd2c75ad9bfc72.jpg, it works a bit better, but it cannot hook up ripped textures to ripped objects, and when I imported all the scene into 3DMax, it was a plain mesh and should be retextured by manual picking textures. Since then I haven't ripped from WITN anymore and don't know if there came any better versions of these rippers.
About HD textures for Shadow of Mordor - I've just uploaded them and made a special post in that thread - https://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1530068&p=51790047#post51790047, so you can download all what you want. The only issue is that several folders have missing texture maps (usually diffuse) and it means I haven't found them within HD textures. Maybe I lost them out of sight or the game makers decided to leave standard diffuse with enlarged normals. In any case, look in the game archives, I did not reinstall all the game yet and do not know if there is decent textures instead of missing ones. Hope they will be useful to anybody else.
Any chance you could also rip scenery? I'd love to get my hands on the maps!
If anyone could figure out a tool to get the models out intact with rigging it would probably be id-daemon. He can figure out virtually anything if you're gonna base it on the tools he created for a nunber of games already.
@id-daemon if you'd be interested I think I have a number of files available for study...
Any progress on getting the maps from this game? I'm still interested in using them!
I tried with ninja ripper tonight. Got nowhere :( I really hope the maps can be extracted, they're the only thing I'm missing!
Yes maps can be ripped. But many maps, require you to replace manually things on them...like all the buildings in Rivendell. And you need to be careful not to rip the low poly model. Also I apologise for the delay but the computer on which I'm working gives me the 0xc00000e5 error with almost everything.
Any update on the Orc/Uruk Hai models? I love their armour, would love to have them ported. No rush though, thanks for keeping this going, enjoyed the easterlings!

I wouldn't mind replacing the objects myself if you say ripped the maps and packaged them together to be rebuilt. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong with ninja ripper but I can't seem to get anything out of it.
Alright I'll PM you tomorrow what I managed to extract.
Hexenjagd I must commend you for your amazing work. It is long time that I have been waiting for someone like you to do what you are doing.
I hope you are still working on this, I will surely use your textures within my game (if you allow it ofc) :).
I have a question I wanted to ask you, are you planning to make a Boromir texture that we all can add to our game? is it possible?
thank you for your job and keep up the good work!
Hey guys. I have a huuge favour to ask of you. I have an animation to do within three weeks of now, and I absolutely need a character model for Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli and Gandalf. Now, I've searched far and wide over the internet and I honestly can't find any available models for them that I can use. All of these characters, however, appear within LOTR Conquest, and with a near perfect poly count for my purposes. I wish I didn't have to ask, but could anybody rip their character models for me? If not I'll have to model them myself, and I don't have enough time to do that in any decent quality.
Could you rip the Uruk Hai, Orcs, Trolls, Elves, and Rohan models? Or atleast give us a guide?
Sorry, you need to Log In to post a reply to this thread.
