So a little introduction on myself before I begin my little thing that probably either end up with no one looking at the thread or screaming profane bullshit at my ears.
My name is Paige, I live in WA of the USA, I'm 14 years old, and to put it simply, I like Halo. Like, really REALLY like Halo.
I've noticed that people have ported models such as Elites/Sangheili, Jackals/Kig-Yar, Grunts/Unggoy, etc. from some of the more "recent" titles such as Halo Reach and Halo 4. And you know what things I've never seen at all, not even on the SFM/GMod workshop or sites like SFMLab?
Take the Hunters, for example; They're personally one of my favorite Covenant species in the Halo universe - y'know, big, terrifying, awesome and slightly cute (in a strange way) at the same time.
And yet I haven't seen ONE model release for them - well, maybe except for that one Halo 3 Hunter model on the GMod workshop, but what about the Reach and 4 ones, or even the Golden/Commando Hunter from ODST?
Like, think about it; there's a LOT of Halo models for so many things. Noble team, Halo 3 - 4 Elites, Jackals, Grunts, H3 Brutes..even a fucking Scarab for god's sake. And yet I haven't seen ONE post-Halo 3 Hunter made for either GMod or SFM.
And honestly? I'd probably do it myself. But I don't know jack SHIT about porting model files into SFM - and plus, from what I've seen, the process for it is..well, lengthy.
So basically what I'm asking is links to downloadable resources for..well, any of these if they're available;
- Halo 3: ODST Golden Hunter
- Halo 4 or Reach Hunter
- Halo 2 Anniversary Elites
- Halo 2 Anniversary Flood
- Halo 4 or Halo 2 Anniversary Flood Playermodels
- Halo 2 Anniversary Gravemind (HIGHLY unlikely, but still- one can dream :P)
- Halo Wars Locust (Honestly, it's one of my favorite Covenant vehicles in terms of design)
Please note that this is sort of my first thread, so go lightly if you can. Not that I'm sensitive or anything, I just don't want people screaming in my ear going all "OH THATS NOT FUCKIGN POSSIBRU!!!!1!!!!". Like, if your going to basically say that, say it in a decent tone at least. We're not damn savages. At least..most of us aren't.
And also, a random question for all of you Halo fans; what's your favorite Covenant species? In order of preference, mine would be; Sangheili, Hunter/Lekgolo, Huragok, Kig-Yar, Unggoy.
Firstly, welcome to Facepunch!
Secondly, you could try taking a look at the Halo modelling thread (link here). I'm not sure what models may have been made, exactly, but taking a look yourself should turn up some things.
Lastly, as far as I know, models from Halo: Anniversary and Halo 2: Anniversary cannot be extracted due to a different way that they are packaged compared to the earlier games, and no one has created a way to get any models from them yet. (I may be wrong on this, but I don't recall seeing anything from either H:A or H2:A).

Thanks for the link! I'll take a look at it.
And yeah, I guess that's understandable. Unless the developers release the model files for whatever reasons. Which would be awesome.
I could have sworn I released a resource version of either the Halo Reach or Halo 4 Hunter model at some point last year.

Really? :freakout: If it's really up or whatever the right word is and available for SFM then I'd LOVE to get my hands on it.

Well, being that it's a resource version, it wouldn't be available for SFM or GMod in its current state. The rigging would still need to be taken care of (I didn't bother exporting it with the rigging at the time since it was just for a texture fix). It should be somewhere within the last ten or so pages of the main Halo porting thread; I don't have time to look for the link right now, and I'm honestly not sure if the link is still functioning. If it is still working, have a go at getting it rigged up for SFM and GMod; if it isn't, then there's not much I can do without re-extracting the model and fixing the textures again since I don't have the archive saved on my hard drive anymore.

Is this true Only with Xbone Games? because bothe Halo 1 and 2 Had their models ported to source back in the day and models had been ported to source dispite being Xbox 360 exclusive.
