• Some Crysis-to-CSS weapon skins

Hey, just thought I'd release these skins since I worked so hard on figuring out how to port from Crysis. To start, here are some pictures: [img_thumb]http://i50.tinypic.com/34xqgsx.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://i50.tinypic.com/nbaq2s.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://i46.tinypic.com/263bsqx.jpg[/img_thumb] Things to note: The original Crysis sounds are used. No world models. Sorry, I haven't had any luck making custom world models without totally fucking them up. These are for CSS, remember that. I have to worry about consistency errors and shit, and I ALWAYS end up with them when it comes to world models. I DID NOT use any of the Crysis weapon models that were ported ages ago by another Gmod user. I'm pretty sure those were world models, but I ported the view models for these skins, as well as the attachments. The song in the video is called Cosm, by The Rain Crow. Unfortunately, he removed his only profile that I know of, which was on Acid Planet (you can find me on there too, with the same name). It's a shame you can't experience his work. His music is unfathomably incredible and beautiful. Just credit the authors who need to be credited, which leads me to the following:
Credits: Crytek: Models, textures, and sounds Makama: AK47 animations King Friday: M4a1 animations BatmanIV: Dual Elite animations 586 Studios: SCAR magazine model and textures
Hey, loving the ports and that video music. I did a little googling and found the guy's site for you, full tracks on there. You're right, the guy's got talent. :v: http://keeganbowen.com/Music.html
Hey, I've always wondered about this, but if we added this to our Gmod, would the sound scripts still work? I've been under the impression that they wouldn't.

Awesome find, now I can show my friend since he wanted to hear his music so badly. He had way more tracks on his AP profile though, but some of the songs I'm seeing on his new site are new to me, I'll definitely have to check them out. PS: As for the sound scripts, I believe they will work, but I can't be sure. You might have to do the sound events via an LUA script or something.
It would have been nice to hear the gun sounds in the video instead of shitty music. Most video recorders nowadays can record sound.
It would have been nice to hear the gun sounds in the video instead of shitty music. If you must know why I put music in the video, it's because I have an ancient sound card that doesn't like to cooperate with recording programs, thus the audio comes out botched 90% of the time. I get lucky every now and then and it's not too distorted to keep, but in this case it was. Hopefully you can take my word when I say that the sounds are great quality, considering they're from Crysis. The firing sounds aren't going to be verbatim to Crysis because when you spray the guns they play a firing loop sample until you stop, so I had to use the single-fire mode samples. The clip, slide, and charging handle sounds are all exact, though.
thanks [editline]06:26AM[/editline] can you rig crysis nanosuit for css
thanks [editline]06:26AM[/editline] can you rig crysis nanosuit for css
No but I have that, however I need permission from Sparkwire over at FPSB if I'm to distribute it.
Well, just give him the link to the FPSB download. I'm pretty sure there's no harm in that.
It isn't on FPSB due to the fact that it would be considered illegal. Sparkwire had several links in his profile that were downloads for custom player models he rigged; the nanosuit being one of them. I managed to download most of them before he was forced to remove the links. The archives are just collecting dust in my "stuff" folder. I'll contact him soon and see if he's ok with my distributing it. I doubt he'll have a problem but I'd rather be absolutely sure.
