• Garry's Mod Configuration Breaks Hammer

I have Team Fortress 2, Counter Strike Source and Garry's Mod I want to make maps for Garry's Mod, and I've heard using the CS:S config works best with Gmod. Thing is, I want Hammer to launch Gmod when I build + run my map, not CS:S. I followed the tutorial on the Wiki, AND one on Youtube, neither of which worked. When I launch Hammer with my Gmod Configuration, it loads correctly, but has problems. 1.) The grid does not show up, no matter what size it is set to 2.) When I make a brush, it is there (The cursor changes when I move over it), but I can't see it in any of the views. Basically, the views are broken. Which, obviously, is a bad thing when I'm trying to make a map. Anyone had this problem or know a fix? Please tell. Thanks.
Just use the CS:S config. Have some patience and move the file from the CS:S maps folder to the Gmod maps folder.
Or just set it to place compiled maps to the garrysmod/maps folder.
It's fucking up because you are not using the Orange Box engine with the config. Garry's Mod is on the Orange Box engine, therefor, that is the engine under which you must set up the config.
ep9832: I figured I'd do that instead now, except that Hammer still has a few problems. The 3D view doesn't work at all -_- I'm re-installing the SDK now. Skyhawk: I doubt that's the reason Hammer doesn't work..? Hammer should be fine, surely it's Garry's Mod that would be affected by that?
Don;t bother using the gmod config. But if you really want to, you have to use the orange box config, and yes, hammer is affected by it.

You just need to remake the configuration under the OB engine.
Well, Ok, thanks Skyhawk :) Problem is, I've already tried compiling maps with the source engine and Garry's Mod just crashes as soon as I turn off noclip and touch a floor/wall/ceiling
