If you read the description you will see that I say it is a HL2 campaign map modified for zs.
Did you take those interiors from HL2?
You can see the difference between the two maps. One is valve owned, the other is yours. Try to emulate what you see in the first.
Could of always made a better OP and put pictures in it...

I decompiled a bsp from the gcf file.
Then get the hell out, you never de-compile a map and then re-release it, it can fuck up brushwork and it's practically stealing.
Only de-compile a bsp to see how someone did something.

Actually I think you'll find I just did release it...
Also if you read it's description on gmod.org I say that I take no credit for this map.
And it didn't fuck up anything, I fixed everything so it's playable on zombie survival. I'm not the first to have done this by the way. If you've ever played zs, you will notice a lot of maps have parts of HL2 maps in them.
There is also an infected wars map that uses Nova prospect interiors, so please quite your complaining.

You'll find around here that the majority of users look down upon de-compiling a map, I wouldn't know about Zombie Survival as IMHO Garry's Mod is shit, this isn't just a GMod mapping forum.
Also if you read I said it can fuck things up, not it does. majority of the time it will create microbrushes.
Not complaining, just a generic response about de-compiling.
Not only microbrushes, but also combined brushes, which messes up brush vertices beyond repair

I am above average for the length of time I've been mapping I have been told.
I suggest you download the map zs_gatehouse in the links above and try it out.
It's the second map I finished.
I don't feel the need to decompile it lol...I just thought it deserved to be available for another game mode.
If you want you can also download my first map called zs_cottage_final.
To be honest, the second map looks like crap, lighting is bland and boring and the map is very blocky. you are in no way above average.
I like them, and I couldn't care less if they were decompiled, as long as they work.

I'm saying that you can see that the 2nd map is yours and the first is very obviously not. You had a decompiled version of a hl2 map on your pc, yet you didn't use any of the techniques that valve's own mappers used. As a result, you have a piece of shit map due to compiling, and a piece of shit map because you didn't use decompiling for what it was intended for.
Meh you guys can whine all you want.

Maybe if you knew how to criticize constructively, then I would listen to you. Saying 'piece of shit map' isn't exactly criticism that is useful to me or that can help me improve. Likewise with what sphinxa said as well...

Wow, all of a sudden an experienced mapper has to download a map and look at it ingame, screenshots are enough. Any decent mapper will tell you this.
And yet someone praising you is more worthwhile...
Lets take this image as an example.

You have detail, props, damaged walls, and yet it just looks dull and boring.
Compare it to this...its a staircase:

But it looks more interesting because shapes have been used. The walls aren't flat, they jut out to accommodate different areas. Not all rooms are square. The fact you cannot see the floor is disconcerting. Areas are way too dark, even for a zombie abuse map. Lighting is dull, or doesn't fit with the scene.
Images don't show, the top is the 3rd from your 2nd map, and the staircase from the 1st.
And yes, sphinxa is right, i judge a map on its screenshots and can work our the flaws from there. I have been mapping in source since 2005, you think i would pick something up right?

Sorry I can't see your screenshots.
Sphinxa, it's all about being bothered to download it really. If you take such and interest in bothering to argue about these maps, then there's no harm in downloading them, you can delete them afterwards of course.
The map could burn my eyes out, kill me, make me mad for enternity, etc. I don't see the reason to download an unpromising map.
Stop being so elitist and have some respect for people who don't have as much experience as you.
