Been looking around but I can't find answers, probably something simple too.
Just get this after trying to compile.
** Executing...

help is appreciated
Have to compile in a source game folder, I believe.
Try saving it in: C:\Program Files\steam\steamapps\arkjinra\garrysmod\garrysmod\maps
Then compile
:siren:This may not work if you don't have the same error!:siren:
edit:
Also, it may just be windows doesnt allow the program to access the desktop, which seems to be the main error, so other places besides a source game folder may work. Best bet is a source folder.
Your compile tools aren't running, you need to set them as admin on windows, or login to administrator.
Tried moving the save game file, same error(s).
Probably denied acces to the tools. How do I allow them? I am always logged on as admin..
That's probably true.
Try making it set to "Always Allow" on your firewall, or atleast make sure that's set.

click on the tools, properties, compatibility, run as admin.
Incorrect info by me, firegod?
All the steam apps are set to allow. along with 4 hl2 listings. do i have to allow hammer.exe or something else?

tools inside the editor or in a windows folder/exe?
Allow hammer.exe
try that.
If that doesn't work, then go to the sourcesdk\bin\(whatver engine you are using, orangebox is 2009) rightclick on vrad.exe vvis.exe and vbsp.exe
Tried that too. Weird, i remember playing with a TF2 map i made and didnt have any errors.
This is what I have done to start this new project i've been thinking about.
Made a very large skybox/block/cube. Made it hollow. single platform in the center. added a playerspawn entity an a light. then tried to save. and here I am with this error.
do I have it set up incorrect? what am I missing?
I have to get some sleep for now, I'll check back tomorrow. Thanks fer yer time
Ok, played around with it for a bit. I can make maps on TF2 without any problems.
Made a smaller box made from six wall parts, still large scale but as small as I'm willing to go right now and it just gives this error;
** Executing...
** Command: Copy File
** Parameters: "C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\arkjinra\garrysmod\garrysmod\maps\WMSS.bsp" "\WMSS.bsp"
The command failed. Windows reported the error:
"The system cannot find the file specified."
Like its not saving or reading from the correct location(s). Not sure what I should try next.
New compile log.
Okay, the short one is from F9'ing in normal, the long one is if I click expert.
Same issue though, anyone have the same problem? I can make the map under TF2 config but not in GMOD config without this error.

Would it create issues if I make the map in TF2 config to play in GMOD?
No.
