Im new to making maps for css and gmod. What is the best way to start a map? Is there any starter templates i could get? if there are, where can i get them from?
You should just start off with some basic tutorials, I suggest you go through this beginner's guide at first, then start using the following sites to learn everything else you need to know about mapping: http://www.halfwit-2.com/ http://www.interlopers.net/tutorials/ http://www.halfwit-2.com/ [editline]01:00AM[/editline] also, look at the sticky, there's a link to the Mapper's Encyclopedia, which is a list of essentially every useful tip, guide, and utility relating to mapping in the Source engine.
1. Don't make a construct/flatgrass remake 2. Use the entity light_environment and env_cubemaps 3. If you get an errors go to Interlopers Error Checker and it will tell you the problems and how to fix it

If you do make maps, please, don't release your first map. Just keep trying until you get better and when you feel like you have one worth posting, then post it.
^ This is the truth. Noone likes it when people release their first maps.
Actually the problem isn't when the map is released, but the high horse that the author is in. First maps are fine if the author accepts criticism.
