• Need A Mapper For Minor Edits

Hello everyone, We are searching for a mapper for some minor editing on a garry's mod map. This pretty much means removing unneeded and quite frankly very annoying invisible walls. If you'd like details, you may add either my friend or me on steam: http://steamcommunity.com/id/akariilako http://steamcommunity.com/id/antinam
Have you got permission from the creator of the map that you want edited AND have you got the original VMF file? Cause I heard bad things about decompiling.
Not to mention, any clean respectable mapper who will provide you good service wont do it unless permission and an original VMF is provided.
just to make things clear, decompiling is unethical, and also causes problems. First, it removes a ton of optimization brushes. that means you would have to do then redo most of the optimization. The problem, frankly, is most people are too lazy/stupid to do that, and you end up with horrid low fps maps like rp_downtown_evilmelon or whatever its called second, it moves around brushes. this can causes leaks (which cause a massive array of problems), lighting bugs, and just plain weird geometry. It should also be noted that anyone here who is caught using someone else's work without permission/credits will get a swift ban, as described in the rules. Thats why it is essential that you get the original VMF file and full permission from the author before modifying any map. That all being said, if you truly got permission (and I would like to see it myself as well), I could probably do said edits for you (although I am no pro, I know my way around hammer editor pretty well).
I do not have direct contact with the original owner myself. The friend that I had posted the steam account of does, although he's informed me he hasn't yet replied. That being said, however, he likely does not have the original file, as it was made possibly more than four years ago. I do understand that we require his permission, we wouldn't dream of infringing any copyrights. We shall wait for his reply before acting, of course. As for decompiling, I do understand the repercussions, but it may be the only option in this case. I thank you all for the swift replies, and the concern.
