Would it be possible to make an NPC that you can talk to? Like in Stalker, except it doesn't have to have any fancy UI. Just a very basic chat, so the NPC can give the player info. Thanks in advance. [editline]06:10PM[/editline] Disagree, huh? I shall prove you wrong!
Perhaps with a brush surrounding the NPC, that has a func_button and can have the NPC play out various scripted sequences.
I don't want to use speech, so I'm using text instead, but that's the general jist of what I'm trying to achieve. [editline]06:26PM[/editline] What are the sentences?
Is it some thing like this you are trying to make? http://www.interlopers.net/tutorials/30686 If no, at least it is a nice feature(and you might be able to combine the two)
Haha. That's pretty awesome. Yes it is, thankyou. What entity would I use to randomly an output (out of three) then fire it?
Use a logic case, and then make some thing trigger it and choose pick random in the output thing. think that shall work
It's taking ages :argh:
For all the dumb asses disagreeing or rating optimistic, hawkeye posted a link to pretty much exactly what I'm trying. How do I make overlays? When the overlay comes up, in game, the bit that should be transparent is black.
Oh man, I can just imagine an npc of the imperial guard from Oblivion that magically appears and talks to you whenever you kill someone or pick up a prop. Then proceeds to kill you.
