I want to decompile gm_bigcity to make a destroyed version but i dont know how to decompile .BSP to .VMF thats all i need to know is how to decompile maps.
Google it, or ask in the questions thread, this didn't need a thread. As far as decompiling goes, don't add to a decompiled map it ruins the optimization and you end up with a crap map anyway. Just make your own map. Plus I know you didn't get permission...
Get permission from the owner. Decompiling is a terrible thing to do because it fucks with the brushwork. Plus, decompiling should only be used to see how certain things work, never to rerelease a map you didn't make. If you want to learn how something in a map works, use VMEX or BSPSource.
There are many decompilers out there, but its a bad idea as you'll end up with a messed up map.
Ask for permission, it will just fuck up the .vmf anyway.
Honestly, the only reason to ever decompile a map is for education. If you see something cool in someones map, and you have no clue how he did it, sure decompile the hell out of it and find out how he did it. Don't just copy and paste it though, study it and learn from it. And as everyone above me has stated it also fucks up brushwork, so if you really wanna re-create a map, get permission from the creator and have him send you the proper .vmf file.

Also I wasent goon to release it especially withouth permmintion I was just going to use it for my own amusement. Thanks for the help anyway.
