This map contains: 4 houses A two story Police Station 3 Shops 2 warehouse like buildings 1 Storage house Heres whats coming in B2: -Large tunnel leading to the forest area -a Combine Jail/Facility -"Cliffs and forests" surrounds the town,instead of concrete walls. -More windows for the houses. -Houses spread out in the countryside. The countryside will be surrounding the town, with the combine jail at the top left corner(current plan). -Any bugs in the map? haven't found any yet. IF you see bugs/misplaced textures, please tell me. -This is a full release? It sucks! No no, its just a beta release. I wanted to receive some constructive criticism from facepunch mappers, so that I can improve upon what I've done. Please give some good suggestions and comments!
Well, I haven't downloaded it yet, but here are some suggestions judging by the pictures: - The outer wall of the town is very repetitive, change it up a bit. - It is very bright. Darken it a bit. Maybe some HDR, - The sidewalk doesn't look like it has an appropriate texture. Change it to one that is a bit darker also. - The road looks really thin. - Make some door frames. Trust me, they make a map look really good. - Try to refrain from using brick textures on the inside of houses, unless you are building something like a fireplace. - You seem to have the wall height down. So I won't bug you with that. - You also know what lighting is. At least your map isn't fullbright. That is about all I have to judge. I will have to test the map out and see what is really is like.
Make a 3d skybox instead of that giant wall, it's an eyesore. The buildings are blocky, lack interior detail and there are no light sources. The light_environment is rather bland and looks like it's pointed straight down. The roads should have more "curve" to them, never seen roads with sudden 45 degree angle turns before.
Thanks. I'll improve the town and add some HDR,door frames......Thanks for the suggestions. One question: How do you make 3D skyboxes? I followed a LOT of tutorials on making such skybox but it never works for me. It just creates this "mirror effect" and I can see the bottom of my map. Can someone help me? (Just to let you know,I did exactly what the tutorial said.)

The sky_camera in your 3D skybox projects around the centre of the Hammer editor grid at the centre of your main level (the red and blue cross thing, make sure that's at the centre.)
But I DID delete it...... I'll try again.
Is your 3d skybox inside the original skybox? Make sure it isn't. Sometimes, it creates that effect if you have it inside the original. Put it outside of the skybox, and it should fix it.

Well untill they stop being douchebags, try removing the walls, and extending the forest further, and add maybe a log cabin, or a pond. Just try working on your changes for B2
