Any Help & tips on making a Natural (forest) Skybox?

Hello, I'm am working on a map (another secret base) and would like some tips on how to make a 3D skybox look like a more natural, believable forest. (which is going to be the setting)
Preferably a forest in a cooler climate, (pine trees, not a jungle or lush thing like that)
I'm using Episode 2 to make this map if that is useful to know.
Here is am image of what i'm looking for:

Go to a field, take screenshots in every direction, stitch together, edit in sky.

A field surrounded by forest, obviously.
That would be nice and all, but i'm content with the sky i'm using, what i want help with is making the actual skybox, 3D, look like a forest.
You want the 3D skybox to look like a forest?
Just start placing skybox trees in the the skybox.

I've tried doing that, but it just ends up looking like a low - rez piece of crap. another problem i've run into is the lack of skybox foliage models in episode 2
also trying to use a displacement causes displacement grass that gets messed up when being enlarged by the sky_camera.
[del]Just make the scale to 1 in the 3D skybox[/del]
Just map onto the level with trees out of reach by a player clip texture?

This. The player shouldn't be able to get anywhere near the skybox anyway.
I've considered that before but now that i think of it.
that sounds like a pretty good idea. i might just try that out.
thank you.
