Damn Firegod, you just about ended the thread.
Many Thanks, so far, Hammer is coming to me pretty well, with these tutorials :v:
I love you for making this thread. You're not like most others who upload a hollowed box with the brick texture and call it awesome, I like that you want to learn before uploading, thats good. :golfclap:
SDK wiki is good as well :D http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/SDK_Docs
Thats more for learning how a specific entity works though. Although they do have some very nice tutorials
Also small hint, never add your name to map name, it's kinda stupid and I noticed that people say "did u felt proud that much to add your name to that sucky map ?"

If there's something in specific you can't quite get working, ask in the sticky (questions megathread). Once you get your map to a presentable stage, put some screenshots on the map pimpage/WIP thread and ask for feedback. Rated [img]http://www.facepunch.com/fp/rating/heart.png[/img]. Most people think they are the absolute best even before they have downloaded the Source SDK, and their maps are usually fullbright construct remakes with carved brushes and offgrid vertices. At least you understand mapping takes a ton of practice to get good at and don't let your ego control your actions.
I've got another question, involving sky boxes. How exactly, do you create one, so that instead of showing what you last looked at(hard to describe.) it shows actual sky? and then, how do I create lighting based off the sky box? EDIT: Here's a picture of what I mean.
a bawx that looks like a sky: http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Skybox_(2D) 3d skybox: http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/3D_Skybox
Ahh, a great article. Helped me get the skybox working. Now to really work on the content. So far, I have a crappy blockhouse, which I will either get rid of, or build upon.

Try not to pick up the bad habits of popular tutorial makers. Unfortunately it's what happens when people search YouTube for Hammer tutorials... You know who I'm talking about.
