When i use custom textures, must i put the materials in the .rar file also? Because ive joined a server with lets say a deathrun server, with a southpark map. I didnt D/L anything but the map.

You need to either put the materials in the .rar along with the map, or you can pack the materials in the map using Pakrat. [url]https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Pakrat[/url]
Would they see it? Would they have to DL it?
Pakrat will make all materials/sounds etc into one bsp file that when they download, they get all the materials and stuff too.
