I've been working on it for half a year, but never got to the point of completion. And now I don't know if I ever will so therefore I'm releasing what's done of it. It's basicly a freespace rp medieval map. Featuring: A big castle at the center of the map placed on a hill. An epic old temple in the mountain area with some cool stuff. A small village, all houses are enterable. A barn A forest A thieves hideout in the forest. A lake and river. This map is full of bugs and needs optimizing. I don't have the time to fix this myself, but the vmf file of the map is included in the download if you want to do the work yourself! And since the map suffers from theese issues, it's not good for online play. But it's a great scenery. Oh my wow. This is very well done! It's a true shame that you can't finish it up! The lighting in the main outdoor area would look even better in a dusk like tone. This is so artistic, you get a palette! Is there any hope at all of you being able to put any more time into it at all?

You are brilliant with castle maps.

Very good map. My only complaints is that some of it is a tad blocky, and there is a lot of barren landscape. Otherwise, nice work.

Great map, badly optimized. I've been optimizing it in Hammer for a good 30 minutes now. Can't wait to play it in all it's glory. :buddy:

What's with the random light_spot shining down on the church? o.o If you wanna make that effect, why not use a more realistic light, or texture light, or glow even.

Despite it being incomplete, I LOVE this map.

Needs a 3D skybox. So many people forget to make one, it's really not that hard and it makes your map look 10x better.

I'd be glad if someone fixed the the map and made it really awesome. my intention with this map was to make a cool Medieval map to play on, but i never got the time to fully finish it.

The one problem I have is that some of the textures flicker and some brushes pop in and out of visibility at the corner of my eye.

Nodrawed brushes out in the open, weird shadows, the walls on the barn disappear when you look at it for too long... To name a few. I hope that whomever takes this and decides to fix it knows what he's doing, because there is a LOT of potential here.

It's too bad this didn't get finished. You do have a way with land scape and scenery.

Anyway, this map is nice, but it would really benefit from using some of the props and things from Episode 2. A 3D skybox would help the map nicely, as well as some more detailed terrain.

Overall good but lightning is too strong IMO.

This would be great for machinima, and including the VMF is really helpful for if I want to tweak it.

What is the grass texture you used in the fourth image?

Oh wow. Um, wow. Wonderful map, if not for detail, for an original idea. You have a scale of detail I have not seen in a map for quite a while. My only concern is how much optimization you put into this. All the odd (non 90 degree) angles probably diced your visgroups, unless you turned a lot of this map into a func_detail? I do love your map, I only saw 2 things that bothered me, the origin point for the light above the chapel, and the large flames in the torches. But this map is amazing, so sad that you've never finished it. Good luck on your future endeavors, you have my download.

You should really, really continue with this map. Some parts are really good, aspecially the layout and such. If you complete the parts that look unfinished this map could become really beautiful. It seems that the biggest flaw is tiling on natural ground and a lack of a 3d skybox.
