An npc survival map for Garrysmod or ep2. Like most survival maps, the goal is to defend the base and stay alive. Ep2 is required for the textures, but not any npcs.

Features:
-Large map
-4 places for the enemy to attack from
-Respawning rebels. When one dies, another runs out of the base to replace him
-Difficulty increases as time progresses
-Combine dropships
-Ability to call a friendly helicopter every 3 minutes that will either come to support you, or carpet bomb the enemy.
-A turret that is usable by players and npcs.
-friendly ground and ceiling turrets.
-A base to defend
-Animated npcs
-Medics inside the base to heal you
-Ammo crates inside the base.
-Cubemaps
-Fully noded
-Sky_camera
Sandbox and toybox version coming soon. Any input/criticism about the map before then is appreciated.
Reasons you should use ep2 rather than gmod:
-Less lag
-Pre-loaded models (no short lag spike when a new npc spawns)
-More functional turret animations
-Configurable difficulties
-Allies have more hp

That was the beta for the map with a thread in the mapping section.
Ah ok.
great map nice feeling of a battlefoeld.
love the location.
also it would be awesome if you add trenches so you have more cover then just some trees.

My only complaint is that the combine will rush through masses of rebels in an attempt to get into the base. If you could make them pause every now and again that would be nice.

oh thanks i forgot what a trench looks like
You should make more of these with different settings. A city, underground areas, maybe a WWII kinda place with trenches?
I'm currently working on an rp map, but I'm not great with brushwork so i have no idea how it will turn out. I plan on going back to survival maps after I finish the the one I'm working on now.
:) A Very Very Fun map Very Enjoyable, The way it works it goes Metro-police with pistols, The prison guards with shotguns, then Combine with SMGs And then Elites With AR2s VERY FUN, with advance AI its a completely diffrent map. :D

:D
You need to make this map way the hell harder. I got so bored that I decided to knock down all my turrets and block all of my reinforcements until the last possible moment, just to give myself a challenge. As it turned out, the rebels were still able to fend off the combine indefinitely.
What you should do is have a longer respawn time for rebels, so they don't flood out of the gates. That way, helping them out isn't just optional.
You should also introduce more npc types, such as gunships, hunters, or striders, since foot-soldiers get boring fast.
This is an awesome map. But I agree with AsianBorat.
It would be great if there would be some hunters and the rebels would spawn a bit later. That way it would be much more challenging.
I'll decompile this map and try to make these changes for myself until you update this map.
Good job on this anyway.
I've noticed the NPCs act more tactical than on other noded maps. How do you make them do that? They take cover, use prefabs (Pulse Turret), fire while moving, stick in squads and use dropships. This is the only map I have ever seen that can do that, and if you know why they do that, could you give me some hints on the nodes to use? I'm thinking of making an NPC-based map, I'm starting to get into the mapping buisness.
