I think I've found what I actually like to do now, and that's help people. I know quite a lot about the Hammer Editor, and some other smaller things, and I feel like I would be pretty good at making good tutorials.
I'm not really sure where to start with this though...I know youtube has that thing where you can make money off your videos by sticking advertisements everywhere, but I was wondering if there was a better way to go about doing this.
Should I make a whole bunch of tutorials, create a site and upload them there, and then stick a donate button somewhere?
I'd much rather do video tutorials than written ones, but I really want to make a site or something that has some really good tutorials on it. Interlopers.net seems kind of behind on things, and you have to go their forums just to view any more tutorials, which could be a pain to find the right one.
So, what could I do to get paid for something I love doing?
Also, I'm taking requests for tutorials.
If you make a site I would read it. Actually teach me somethings and I can toss you a spare few bucks I have lying around. Always good to help a fellow mapper.
It's not a good plan to go into making tutorials in order to make money.
A better idea would be to offer personal guidance for a fee.
I agree with Chewgum, and also PinkPanzer, you're better off offering personal guidance to people that need it for their map for a fixed fee or an hourly rate. Set up a website to do this, nice and simple; offering a personal help system. But do also do your tutorials for free with a donate button on each page with a big ol' sign saying " DONATE TO ME I NEED FOOD" and you'll be well on your way.

That's what I was thinking of. Just making a website, upload tutorials, and slap a donate button somewhere on it.

OH.
You always have the Fiverr.com website, I had a few gigs on there for Hammer and made about $40 from teaching people to do basic stuff.
Or maybe you could create a membership site, and charge a monthly fee for people to view X number of tutorials that you have made, and put onto the site.
