If there's one thing that bothers me about displacements, it's curved displacements.

When I'm making a curve, I feel like I'm missing something, a hill-side going along with the road. Alrighty, so I make a curve and turn it into a displacement.
Sad thing is, I only get a choice of left or forward (for example).
Could valve not implement some kind of displacement morpher that sticks to the direction of the brush? It's a pain in the ass having to get the middle of the curved displacement to be displaced pretty good without it looking like crap.
So, could valve do this, or is there another trick to it?
Hmm, subdiv direction may do what your looking for.
Use paint geometry tool, and set the axis to subdiv normal. Though you can't have spacial checked when editing it.
Wow, awesomely informative Firegod. Saved me having to use complicated methods that aren't subdividing.
You could also try alt-rightclicking using the face direction tool, this will align it and doesn't disable things like spatial.
