For Areaportals: Should I have them linked to a door if they are covering a door? Also should I have my areaportals have a trigger to turn them on and off like in this picture: [IMG]http://developer.valvesoftware.com/w/images/5/57/Areaportal_trainstation04.jpg[/IMG]

Again, you can. Its up to you. imo if you aren't looking at it, its going to auto close anyways.
[QUOTE=erie1555;24173462]2) Should I for my areaportals though?[/QUOTE] it's common sense, erie. if the areaportal is going to be covered by a door that opens and closes, then obviously if the door is closed there is no reason for the areaportal to be open. and when the door is open, then the areaportal should be open. if the areaportal does not cover a doorway, but rather a simple enclosed area without a door, then it should remain open if your map is multiplayer, so other people who are looking at the areaportal will be able to see inside it. if it's singleplayer, then areaportals should only be open when you are coming near to them.
