• Making a table/chair/etc spawn from a crate

I'm making a rp map (shutup) and I wanted a way for players to furnish their apartments/stores on their own without having to spawn an item, or carry the item to their apartment with too much difficulty. Is there any way to accomplish this? I've tried an item_crate with a specific resupply tied to the name of a table entity, and I've even tried attaching a point_template to a box through a physbox and a phys_constraint, only to find point_templates don't move. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
Lua.
Did he just tell us to shut up?
Did he just tell us to shut up?
Yes because everyone is 12 on facepunch who complain about everything, and he is CLEARLY better than all of us.
No , it wasn't for that, it was because most people here whine and moan and say that Facepunch has enough RP maps.
Facepunch has enough RP maps, gtfo. (User was banned for this post ("Help or don't post" - Terrenteller))
You had to be the one didn't you?
It was foretold from the beginning that I would be the one. I was but embracing my destiny.
Well, on topic, it is worth knowing that an entity that is a template for a point_template will spawn at it's location, not at the point_template. Parent a chair to a crate, and OnBreak then chair so and so point template blah
Problem being that it doesn't actually exist in the game world until it's spawned, so it wouldn't parent properly.

I don't know how you would achieve that in Hammer but there's a crate maker addon that works pretty well: http://www.garrysmod.org/downloads/?a=view&id=5422
