Like the title says: How do i protect my map from Decompilers?
You can't. If they really want to decompile the map, they will. Just be glad that the process of decompiling the map will fuck it up completely.
Every known method can be bypassed easily.
F.Kalkman had a forum page on it; Had some really good methods afaik.

All those can be bypassed.
Answer: Make it so shitty no one would take the time to even look at your map, let alone decompile it.
Does it really matter?
You... don't?
Unfortunately, there is always the little shit who will try and steal a map and claim it as theirs. Decompiling is fine for observing how things are done within the map of course, but they should not steal it outright. If someone is determined enough, they can do it.
Hey you can try this , probably it will help you and its eazy to use

That may protect against the official VMEX, but the hacked version and BSPSource will still decompile with it on.
The only thing you can do really is get that thing that scrambles the names of all the entities when you compile, so if you use any i/o its annoying for people to try and figure out what the hell is going on.

You can disagree as much as you like with my post, but it won't make it less true. A hacked vmex is easy to get hold of and will blast through any protection you might put on.
If you don't want anyone to decompile your maps, then don't make any maps.

you cannot protect your map from decompilers
was that a better answer?

This was. Anyway thx.

I'm smart enough.
You cannot actually make it decompile proof, you can make it harder to decomiple yes, but in the end if they are determined they will decompile it, why are you so worried about this anyway?

Well I'd be annoyed if someone decompiled my maps, added a shitty 'disco' (usually a cathedral sized combine-textured cube with lasers) and claimed it as their own.
Nobody will really try to claim things as their own, and even if they do, they have no proof to back it up. You would have an entire development of WIP screenshots and notes.
If you make a good map, no one is going to care about a shitty decompiled and recompiled version of it. Similarly, I'm sure no one is going to want to decompile a map of yours, because if you're stupid enough to be asking about how to protect from decomiplers, you're probably stupid to the point where you're going to be dishing out shitty maps, which no one is going to want to decompile.

What if you had uploaded the WIP screenshots to a forum or other website and they downloaded them and claimed them as theirs?!

Then it would show who uploaded the screenshots in the first place...
Worry less about who can steal your map and more about mapping better lol.
If your map has a ton of prop_statics, put two at the corners of the map or something, it fucks over the decompiling program, and they won't be able to decompile while saving the static props, limitation in Java.
It's only one bit, but it works.

This, I'm not so sure why everyone gets their panties in such a twist about stuff like this...People can decompile your maps and they will, but people directly claiming someone elses slightly edited map as their own doesnt really happen that often.
People getting away with it is even more rare.
I remember back in the day when I first started mapping, I was asked to add stuff to a crappy jailbreak map, so I decompiled it and added the requested crap, I recently found this map on my hard drive and almost broke down into tears from what I'd done, I'd make a blocky, fullbright piece of shit, look worse :ohdear:
If you do not want anyone to decompile your maps.
Do not release them, a much better idea than to not make them.
