• A few questions concerning Portal 2 maps made with the Alien Swarm SDK

Basically me and a few friends are wanting to make a mod that has some wacky levels that make cool use of the linked_portal_door entity but we also want to have some enemies in there too. So basically I'm wondering if you can still use enemies, the AI director and other stuff from Alien Swarm and use Portal 2 entities in the same mod. I followed the tutorial on the Valve Developer Community wiki to set up the Alien Swarm SDK so you can make Portal 2 maps with it but I'm pretty new to making Source mods and maps and there's some stuff I'm still unsure of. tl;dr if you set up the Alien Swarm SDK for Portal 2 maps can you use stuff from Alien Swarm and Portal 2?
No, they use different engine branches and .dlls
Ok I understand that the AI director is from a different branch but what about NPCs and stuff? Would we have to make our own from scratch? Sorry for the total lack of knowledge, I tried looking this stuff up on the wiki and it isn't very helpful.

You are out of luck with your entire plan if you want to use Portal 2.

I didn't realise that the Portal 2 branch doesn't have the capacity for basic modding. I guess we'll just have to use the regular Source SDK if we want custom items and NPCs and stuff.
