Anyone have any experience with this program? I am having an issue where the program does not recognize HL2:EP2, which is the configuration I map with. Packbsp's website says the issue could be resolved by refreshing sdk content and running the game once, but neither of these have worked for me. Any advice? Is there an alternative to this program that works as well if not better?
You can always manually add your custom files with PakRat or VIDE VIDE is the best option for newest games but I'm not sure if it will work with the Steampipe games. PakRat is outdated since 2006 but for me it work very well, especially if you are planning in add only models, textures and sounds.
I suggest using BspZipGui. Unlike PackBSP, you can pack stuff on the same map all the times that you want (if you do this, your map gets corrupt), and is better than it (never got bugs on a map since I started using it). It works with all the Source games and mods, even the new ones. The main advantage that has this tool, is that you only have to specify a folder where are your content, and the tool will recursively adding all the content inside of your map. You only have to indicate the path of your bspzip.exe (For example, for a Source 2007 mod, it would be SteamApps/youraccount/sourcesdk/bin/source2007/bin/bspzip.exe), the map where you are going to add or extract content, and the folder where are the content to add, or where is going to be put.
I've been using VIDE with some success, but it doesn't pack everything. I'll give your suggestion a try, thanks.
