Are you following the instructions on the thread carefully? I got this a few days ago myself and it works just fine. The author provided his own grass blend texture that uses the detail sprites provided - aslong as you edit the Map Properties to tell it what to use, as he instructs [t]http://i.imgur.com/maIBQbk.png[/t]
how much does this grass kill fps again? kinda want it on my flatgrass map but i'm afraid it will at least drop the fps by half, and in gmod we need every frame we can get in order to keep it playable once you have a few players and props in the map or would there be any way to activate/deactivate it in game for everyone? maybe with a button or something? or would that be a problem or not so good in any way? i dont know i always want to have at least 100-150fps in an empty map because fps drops really quikcly, if i get barely 60fps in an empty flatgrass map with all this detail grass i dont think it would be a smart idea to add it

(also dunno what you mean by 60fps being bad, that's as high as you're gonna come. there is no such thing as 100-150fps even if some games say that they run that high :v:) To bypass that I suppose you would edit the .vbsp file and decrease the density of it or mess around with other settings in it - won't look as pretty anymore but Source didn't like an entire flatgrass map with this on it unfortunately
So does this grass not tank your PC that much? It's looks nice and I want to use it in my New York Map ;)
So does this grass not tank your PC that much? It's looks nice and I want to use it in my New York Map ;)
It doesn't tank my PC at all on the test map in my screenshot above, but I have a pretty powerful PC so I never expected it to happen anyways 3.51 GHz AMD FX8320 8-core processor, 8GB ram, ASUS Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 with i think 4GB memory, on 1366x768 native resolution monitor
Well that's my problem me PC is also power xD so I can never tell if it tanks computers, its ageing but I have a AMD FX8320 8 Core aswell, 8 GB ram R9 280x (pussy compared to that beast, I might upgrade to it tho) 3 GB memory and I run at 1920x1080. So as you can imagine Gmod is a joke really, I hit 60 in gta v with ENB and high settings, so do you know if it tanks any one else's PC? [editline]2nd January 2016[/editline] Im not gonna use it a lot, only small patches on pavements etc.
I don't have any experience with this kindof detail on slower PCs, so absolutely no idea. You'll just have to create your map and try and experiment
