Sup guys
For the past half year (roughly around November time actually) I've not mapped a thing, and this is mainly because when I load hammer up, all goes well and dandy, all is fine.
Then I click the texture browse button (the one that brings up all the textures) so I can begin nodrawing something. Unfortunately, upon clicking this button, it fucking freezes hammer. I have to close it, because it's not showing up. It just stays frozen, as if the window is open, but it's actually not.
What the hell happened, and how can I get around it? I've not been able to do anything in Source SDK because of this, so my mapping hobby may be fucked if I can't use it anymore.
Could we get some more info? Do you have multiple monitors, are you using a custom FDG file? What source game are you mapping for, and what engine? (2007, 2009, ep2, css, etc)

I've had stuff similar to this, all I did to fix it was delete the entire Source Sdk folder, and whatever folder your mapping in's folder. Then I re-installed them both and it typically works again.

No multi-monitors, no custom FDG file, 2009/EP2
Will try WitheredGrpyon's advice
I deleted both Source SDK and Source SDK Content folders, and it still did it.
Perhaps the window is opening off-screen.
After clicking the button and before anything else:
1. Hold Alt and press the spacebar.
2. Press 'M'.
3. Press an arrow key.
The cursor should snap to an edge or corner of the screen, above the texture browser window.

NOW MAP US A PHX TRACK.
I SHALL
When I can find the phx props. I need the train wheel to get dimensions right, it's how I start off making tracks. :)
80 units of space between the rails. The rails are 12 high and 8 wide. That's how I made tracks.
