Hi guys! I'm celebrating my first map release for insurgency! I'll post below pictures and would appreciate feedback!

Massive credit to Lt_Commander for his assets!
Credit also to the black mesa team for their sound assets and some model assets.
Below is the steam thread, if you like it, please spare some time to rate it up!

If this map gets enough steam I'm probably going to do a gmod release.

i'm getting purple black checker on the models
Is that STILL happening? I've had people do retests since first release and that shouldn't still be going on. Post a screenshot of what exactly you're having errors with.

it seems the models can't find the textures or the workshop downloads them into the wrong place
what are you using to pack your textures?
Currently PAKRAT? It's strange that this would show up because I've had other players tell me they've loaded the textures but they're white.... strange indeed.
pakrat works but i recommend using VIDE instead. its a lot more straight forward with less problems.
the problem i found with pakrat is sometimes it would say its done it but then it hasnt actually done it.
Okay, thanks for that man I'll give it a shot, I'll post back here once I've re-uploaded it.

That's it fixed now.

Some textures were added but still got some missing
Once again, she's been re-uploaded, tell me if you have any further difficulties!
nope still the same, any chance of putting dl link here for the textures ??
I'm still working on a fix with some testers, I'd rather fix it wholesale than tell people that they require modding packs.
it has tobe the workshop i just checked now and the textures i didnt have before are there but the ones i did have are gone :/ [t]http://i.imgur.com/U2SPMJH.jpg[/t] what i'll try is unsubscribe restart steam play game then resubscribe and hope that fixes it
Try it now, try it exactly now. I think this time should be the last time we'll have to do this tango with the workshop!
woohoo yay its sorted :) thx m8
Really good map, nice work!
Hey there taz0, I was working on Sci-fi map a while ago myself. But I gave up due to abandoning the gamemode it was going to run on. And the lack of sci-fi assets on source also made things difficult. If you're struggling to conceptualize something very sci-fi looking I would recommend looking up Sci-fi concept art. I kinda enjoy doing that, as I get alot of my inspiration for the current map I'm working on from concept art aswell.
I see you're using just PK01 textures. I would recommend you give these two texture packs a try too. But you do seem to be late into development for new textures.
*Cblast made a really awesome award winning sci-fi map called de_keysiv, he published all the custom textures he made for it. http://dttcorp.fr/keysiv/
I would also highly recommend this pack as well. http://gamebanana.com/textures/4170.
The texture sizes are a big large... But I think it's definitely worth it the extra MB in my opinion.
last but not least, heres a sci-fi source map thread I guess you might be interested in for further inspiration. https://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1081870

Its interesting you've mentioned this, I've worked with the Keystone IV assets before and I found them to be rather difficult since all the models have no collisions. The Yellow and White of PK02 matches Lt_Commander's sci-fi model pack. (PK01 is much more gritty, like a mining ground or something of the sort.) But It's funny you mention this because I'm currently making another sci-fi map, based on a mine, Odaenathus isn't just the start, don't worry.
