Hello, I have problem with hammer editor currently. I'm trying to use Source SDK Base 2013 Multiplayer hammer with SourceMultiTool, but it uses 4.1 build 6411 hammer and it is very laggy for me.
I tried hammer from other games as well and the only one that doesn't lag is the one from l4d2, 6602 build, so my question is, can I actually change my build somehow? Tried moving the l4d2 bin folder but I got missing materials/editor/wireframe errors in hammer.
No, that's not how it works.
Sadly, it's really hard to move the camera with few fps, but I think i will try anyways
does the fps start off low or only when you have a full map in view ? if they start of low try reinstalling your gfx drivers if its low with a full map in view select sections of the map and press h to hide it then u to unhide it :)

I think the circle with R inside option may lag, because in l4d2's hammer there is no option like this, and it doesn't lag.

yeah untick the radius culling in hammer "circle R" you don't need to use it

you could try one of these alternatives to hammer and see if they run better microbrush 3 [url]http://shrinker.beyond-veils.de/projects/IterationX/Microbrush3/[/url] or Quark [url]http://quark.sourceforge.net/download.php[/url] you should be able to build maps for hl2-ep2 and Gmod but to map for css -csgo orl4d l4d2 you'd have open your saved vmf in their editor to compile it
Finally fixed it after veryfing l4d2 authoring tools, it fixed missing material/editor/wireframe hammer crash, after that I edited gameinfo.txt and mounted my vpks content from other games here. Now it works.
