This is only the alpha, so it's not finished yet. I've only put detail into some of the more important buildings. The lighting, textures and models are placeholders. This is a map for CS:GO that I've been working on for the past couple of weeks. My friends have helped me with the design and balancing and we've finally come up with something that we like. We would love to have some people come and play test it with us. So far we've only been able to play test it with bots, but they're not very helpful. We think it's balanced, but we can't tell for sure unless we have a full server. If you think something should be changed gameplay wise, please tell me. Map Download Sever IP: 216.52.143.172
Please if you are checking the map out on my server - do not direct download it. My server doesn't have a strong download speed and you would be just wasting your time. Also probably looking to get a big group to playtest it later.
I dont know why there are so many viewers, but yet no replies. As a long time mapper, I would like to say I like what your doing. I like that you planned it out and worked from what you planned. Too many maps I see that arent planned out at all. Its nice to see some thought go into this.

I have less time to work on this, but I'm still adding stuff whenever I have time. I started putting detail in some parts of the map. This looks pretty good for a start. Can't wait to see the finished project.
I've always had random urges to make some multiplayer maps for CS:GO, don't really know how to start planning them out though. I also can't find a balance between theme and gameplay. If I start planning a map with gameplay in mind I can't think of a fitting theme and vice versa. Great looking map so far though, simzboy! I'll download it and give it a try.
I think this environment would look great if it were a pine forest. If you want some new pine tree models for the map I'd be happy to make them for you. You can message me on steam if interested.

In a sense this map feels very reminiscent of TF2.
It makes me think of a realistic TF2 but without being a shitty texture replacement on GameBanana. I like it.
That looks really nice. I know this is in early stages but don't forget to put some displacements on the outside ground, it looks to flat. Other than that great start!
In a sense this map feels very reminiscent of TF2.
After just reading this I realized this wasn't a TF2 map. Looking into it a bit more, very nice job OP.
This looks really nice. I like it :D
That looks really nice. I'm probably going to change it. :v: Anyway, I've been slowly updating some parts. I'm not too happy with this, but here's what I have so far. I'm still screwing around with the lights.
Doors mean people walk through them. Meaning high traffic area. Grass gets messed up when people walk through it a lot. Get some blend textures going and make it all dirty near doors and implied commonly-walked paths. Will also break up the ground a bit and make it less flat-looking. Also totally get some mountains in the skybox.
Even though it's not done, I'd recommend throwing it onto the workshop so it's easier to distribute update to testers and whatnot. I like where it's going and am looking forward to trying it out!

Also, I'll make a pathway with the blend texture. I wouldn't put it on the workshop early. People will see the WIP version, not rate it, and it'll get buried immediately.
I wouldn't put it on the workshop early. People will see the WIP version, not rate it, and it'll get buried immediately.
I guess that's a different way of looking at it.
Have some standards when you think about submitting something, like not releasing alphas. Any mapper will tell you they're sick of quality content being drowned in early birds hoping for people to appraise their dev textured map layouts etc.

I only made this thread, because I wanted to see if there were any problems with the layout before I started adding detail.

This looks really good!

Your outdoors is ok, but I think you've got too much ambient light in the building. Makes it a bit uniform and uninteresting. I think you'd benefit by toning down your light brightness a bit, or using light_spots if you're not already. Maybe turn one of them off, I dunno.
The map looks good, but how big are the textures? They look like they're 256x.
Those fans aren't circular.

I'll give it a shot.
The map looks good, but how big are the textures?
Those fans aren't circular.
Are those the wrong type of fans for an area like that? I'll go ahead and change them.
