I am having trouble installing propper for hammer on GMod. Please Note: I am very new to this. I have tried watching tutorials online and none of them seem to work. When I try and launch SourceSDK, the only game I can select is TF2. When I try and launch Hammer anyway, it just crashes. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks, Rapid.

I design my maps not using Source SDK, but instead I go to the bin of Halflife 2 and find the application hammer. This will run hammer using halflife 2 and you can easily run these maps in Gmod. If you dont have hl2 then you could try Portal or some other source game.

you might have to open the gameinfo.txt and change 220 or 420 to 218 then copy the client and server .dll's from \steamapps\common\Source SDK Base 2007\sourcetest\bin to ur mods folder so you don't get the error could not scheme file wen you start Hammer
It still does not work for him.
It does work! I have it setup and working 100%. I'll try to help troubleshoot when I get home.
this is my Gameconfig.txt
"MyMod" { "GameDir" "C:\Steam\steamapps\sourcemods\My_Mod" "hammer" { "GameData0" "C:\Steam\steamapps\common\SourceSDK\bin\source2007\bin\halflife2.fgd" "GameData1" "C:\Steam\steamapps\common\SourceSDK\bin\source2007\bin\propper.fgd" "TextureFormat" "5" "MapFormat" "4" "DefaultTextureScale" "0.250000" "DefaultLightmapScale" "16" "GameExe" "C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Source SDK Base 2007\hl2.exe" "DefaultSolidEntity" "func_detail" "DefaultPointEntity" "info_player_start" "BSP" "C:\Steam\steamapps\common\SourceSDK\bin\source2007\bin\vbsp.exe" "Vis" "C:\Steam\steamapps\common\SourceSDK\bin\source2007\bin\vvis.exe" "Light" "C:\Steam\steamapps\common\SourceSDK\bin\source2007\bin\vrad.exe" "GameExeDir" "C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Source SDK Base 2007" "MapDir" "C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Half-Life 2\hl2\maps" "BSPDir" "C:\Steam\steamapps\sourcemods\My_Mod\maps" "CordonTexture" "tools/toolsskybox" "MaterialExcludeCount" "0" } }
from s\common\SourceSDK\bin\source2007\bin and this is my mods Gameinfo.txt
"GameInfo" { game "My_Mod" title "HALF-LIFE'" title2 "== episode two ==" type singleplayer_only FileSystem { SteamAppId 218 ToolsAppId 211 // Tools will load this (ie: source SDK caches) to get things like materials\debug, materials\editor, etc. SearchPaths { Game |gameinfo_path|. Sorry for the late reply, when I try to launch Hammer in SourceSDK I cannot change the game. And, I cannot select the hl singleplayer mod option. I have tried everything posted above and it still doesn't work :/ I appreciate all of your reply's!
try using the ZBSP tool from here http://forums.pixeltailgames.com/t/source-fbx-tool-and-bsp-proper-tool/2011 you don't need the old sdk you can use it straight from hl2 Bin where the Hammer.exe is or if you have installed source 2013 SP or MP sdk in the Bin folder where Hammer is with them ,, i haven't used the zbsp much because proper works ok for me but i have tried it zbsp out and its on par with propper :)
