This is a Source engine port of the UT99 map as-hispeed.

There are a number of issues with this map that I wasn't able to work out, here's a few of the big ones:
1) Sounds in the map are going to be soft due to running into the maximum number of allowable ambient sounds in the world. I tried to work around this with soundscapes but I couldn't get them to work reliably and not sound strange. Some sounds had to be removed to stay under the limit. Someone more proficient in the sound engine can probably fix this.
2) Some world geometry has cracks/seams between faces. This is a problem with the VMF format corrupting brushes due to lack of decimal precision. ctf-coret and ctf-lavagiant suffer similar problems.
3) I know of no "assault" game mode for Garry's Mod so the triggers, auto cannons and buttons for this game type weren't created. If an assault game mode comes along, I'll implement these.

This looks fantastic! As for the sound bug, wouldn't a custom soundscape be better than an overload of ambient sounds?
Soundscapes would fix the "too many sounds" bug, but I couldn't get even a single soundscape to work properly.
I need to use positional soundscapes to have sound come from different sources, but the soundscape would clamp all sounds to just one point and play at ear rape levels. I tried for two weeks to get soundscapes to work and just gave up out of frustration.
I wish I could help more with that, but I've yet to work on anything involving custom soundscapes.
Custom soundscapes are just as much of a mystery to me as to you, this is the first time I've tried using them.
Most tutorials I've found are very dated, long winded and don't adequately explain more advanced features of soundscapes.

TF2Maps.net has a great tutorial on making custom soundscapes. All you have to change is the directory of your game from 'tf2' to whatever you're mapping for, eg 'gmod'.
