readme.txt
--TERMS OF USE: Do not claim as your own. Thats it. No need to credit me. --HOW TO USE THE MODELS: The models in the ass_sets folder can be used on their own. They dont have collision geometry in order to reduce netdata. The body and door model have 5 skins, the body model has 1 bodygroup, the instruction booklet is physics ready and the console model has animations for button presses. Use them with prop_dynamic. All models are just about as optimized as they can be. Geometry and texture lods present. They work/look fine on lowest settings, I took it all into account. Models use phong, so no cubemaps are required but they look especially good in interesting lighting conditions (see example .vmf) Weight in terms of filesize: 2,8MB. To reduce filesize you can halve the resolution of the following .vtf's: tester_diffuse and tester_normal --HOW TO USE THE VMF: To copy paste stuff in your map disable spawns and brushes with already setup custom visgroups. If you dont want traitors to be able to sabotage the tester simply hide the sabotage visgroup. You can edit the sabotage cost in the relevant traitor button (text) and credit (actual cost) entities. You can also remove and edit the delay and other stuff. There are 3 activation options, selectable by toggling visgroups. More than 1 activation option works, but I see no need for it. - Activate via fetch quest. A instruction manual has to be found in order to activate the tester. You can spawn the manual randomly by yourself, just make sure it retains its ent name. - Activate automatically. This is done after the preparation phase ends, because if someone manages to get into the tester during prep phase they will be registered incorrectly even when prep phase ends. - Activate via button. - All activation is done via a single relay entity, so its incredibly easy to setup your own activation method. Disabling the tester completely is not supported in my setup, although you could modify the sabotage function to fit this purpose. Entity setup is optimized and simple. DO NOT TOUCH THE ENTITY SETUP UNLESS YOU ABSOLUTELY KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING. --CONCLUSION: Made by Grenade Man 2016. Released on Facepunch mapping section 2016. Honestly looks great, and I've never been a huge fan of traitor testers but the sabotage function is a cool way to make them more balanced.
Yeah, when sabotaged there's only a 33% chance to return the correct verdict in my setup. But this is also very easy to modify, so you could have it hurt the player being tested or have a chance to return a completely wrong verdict etc. If anyone needs help with simple modifications don't be afraid to drop a question here!
This is beautiful. I used it on a map I ported from csgo and it looks and works great. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1747566898
