Super excited to see this post. Congratulations by the way, to the entirety of the RUST team.
Now then, I have to buy a bunch of copies of RUST now though or my giveaways are gonna cost a pretty penny haha..can we-rewind back to the winter sale for a moment!?
OMG im so glad and sad at the same time cuz' my gpu just die and i cant play rust BUT happy cuz' rust is leaving the EA.
I love you Facepunch Studios!
It feels rushed you haven't even finished the road map! I feel like more than half of the road map needs to be done before it comes out of early access. That's my two cents, but im excited for this games future and seeing if you community grows!
Congratulations to all the staff that make us spend hours having fun
If moving to a monthly patch for the main branch, will that always be a full wipe each month?
Congratulations and thanks for the updates and support to the game. I still think 1 weapon missing is a high tier bow, such as a compound bow, that fires new metal arrows which would be more expensive for example. Imagine the amazing fights you could have with it VS guns if there was a more advanced bow to compete properly with them, and I say it because the bow fighting was what first got me into the game as it feels better than in any other game. If there was a proper compound bow it would help the game stand out from other games that are obsessed with just guns and make for some really great fights. Sure you can still kill with normal bow / crossbow but it is difficult. It could cost 50 HQM + components to craft, and the arrows for it could be metal frags or something to make it a similar cost / time investment to bullets, but to have the option between the two would be brilliant. I often use the Phantom bow in Battlefield 4 and it's really fun and something different. Recipies and expanded cooking, along with a revamped fishing minigame is another thing I hope to see soon. Good luck in the future !
... after EarlyAcess every 4 Weeks always ServerWipe ?
I guess yes. But they are planning to remove these wipes in the far future.
Honestly?.. wow. I bought this game in early 2014 aaaand... i didn't played it. My laptop couldn't run it even on a Fastest settings. But i've been actively watching for Rust Experimental development process and i liked all of your ideas. Sadly that a lot of cool concepts were scrapped forever, but i still love how current Rust looks like. I started playing this game again back in early 2017 with my friends and first days of survival will be in my memory forever. First friends, first enemies, first death by cold, first death by helicopter, first home, first raid and first bugs. And also this wonderful background music. There is no more multiplayer games like this.
I learned how to build and shoot, looted my first airdrop and survived first attack by zergs. Damn, so many feels. Then you've added APC tank, updated a lot of outdated stuff and made it better.
And after all Rust is coming to leave Early Access, after four years. Unbelievable.
You guys did an incredible job and even after all issues you're still working on it. I'm pretty sure peoples like you will be in history of gaming industry.
Good thing is higher price - less cheaters, but also less players from countries where $34 are too much for a game (including Russia, hehe)
Keep it up, FP.
Keep the good work guys, we're counting on you.
CONGRATS! I'm very happy that the updates are moving to monthly instead of weekly, I expect much more exciting content. I do, however, ask that you continue to have weekly dev blogs inbetween monthly updates, as I find it not only exciting to see what's coming next, but it's also entertaining to read about the development of our game. Plus it gives me something to look forward to on Thursdays... without dev blogs, Thursdays are just another day until the weekend...
But anywho, I'm looking far forward to whats next and ask that you continue to post weekly dev blogs!
Don't forget about the small details. No matter what un-artistic people say, developing a game is an art and art is brought to life through the small details.
Again in 4 Years ? Why BETA or FINAL and wipe alltime Servers ? RUST will be boring, then most player have JOB, FAMILY, no much Time and Pleasure, to build all every 4 Weeks new ! Only People with no Jobs etc. can do this ...
Four weeks is enough to build something, even if you're working and have a family. But if these things are more important to you, then you better to forget about games like Rust.
Rust is my favourite game of all time, I honestly love everything about it. I feel quite emotional now, hearing that its coming out of early access, not in a bad way though. To me, what makes this game so great is that it is simply what you make of it, meaning you can play it however you like. It is incredibly versatile and even though there have been changes in the past that I havent agreed with, it remains my #1 choice of game to play provided I have the time.
You guys, the devs and everyone who had a part in making it, have really created something special here. Thank you!
What a great news!
Playing from the very beginning (I do remember zombie times) and still considering Rust as best game ever.
Thank you, entire Facepunch studios for such great work!
P.S.: Today is my birthday, so I take this announce bit emotionally
This game obviously isnt ready for leaving early access, in the current state the game got serious problems.
Yeezus $34.99 I feel bad for all the hackers that try to rebuy the game and hack more
well there are still a lot of rust accounts going for 3-8$ ;)
A big thanks to Garry and the team.
We have enjoyed helping through the journey to this point and look forward to what the future holds for Rust.
Congratulations on the milestone you will not be celebrating. 8)
Maybe mark the occasion in the game with a special item on the rust store we can buy so we can help support Facepunch a bit more. This game was the best value for $20 I have ever spent.
Regards
Brengun (Ex NoBull Server Owner)
thanks for the man hours and weekly updates you've been delivering - to everyone at Facepunch. and for not giving up on the game!
Though I have just joined the forums, I have been playing Rust since it's creation. Even after it leaves Early Access, I hope to continue to support this game and see future updates. Thank you so much for making this game.
Hi Garry, I have just one question. Do you want to make sometime update on Rust Legacy? I think it will be good step for our Rust ocmmunity...
