If you reply to somebody's post, then edit the post so that it's now just a space, the person you replied to still gets notified. Anybody want to volunteer?
Wouldn't it be the same as @ mentioning someone for no reason at all?
I also wonder whether @mentions generate notifications when they're added in an edit.
So that's a yes?
actually did not get a mention, just now saw you mentioned me, i just happened to find your post and do what the op described by chance
I got them. :thonkery:
Big deal.

but it makes it a space, not deleting the message. that's spam unless you're just snipping it

y'know you can also waste someone's time by coining their post which also notifies them.
Double notification, hahaha gotem!
goddamnit stop wasting my precious time
No you!
@Galaxy have a taste of your own medicine!
A triple notification! This is escalating too far!
@Noob© @Galaxy
suck it
I get email about a new thread and when I get there it was spam 404 not found. Isn't there a way of not sending email notifications for a short time until the thread is confirmed to be legit?
@Burre.png Gottem
Unless spam becomes a problem, I don't think that will be necessary. Plus, it would probably be unreliable. The delay would have to be longer than the usual response time for moderators to delete spam threads. What if that response time is a few hours on average? You'd always get email a few hours after a thread was posted. That reduced the usefulness of the emails feature, while still not catching any spam threads that take longer for the mods to delete.
@Cronos eats invisible burgers.
That's the point this topic should actually be about @aeeh
What the hell, why are you mentioned me?!
