Hey all! Looking for the best bang for the buck server hosting for a 75-100 Slot Oxide Modded Rust Server. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Looking for the cheapest but also is reliable and has easy management tools!
A 'slot' based server isn't the way to go. Maybe if you're just starting off. But renting a dedicated machine is the best bet for the long run as they can offer WAY more flexibility and performance since you're not sharing a machine with another person pretty much.
From what I've heard OVH i think is the name i've seen pop up regularly if you're just wanting to rent. Another option is also shopping around and building your own server and just pay 'housing' rent on it to be placed in a facility. Which is much cheaper in the long run.
Appreciate it @Lone . Yeah At the moment I have a 10 Slot Oxide Linux Server that I'm locally hosting on a dedicated local server but due to memory/net and all, I am needing to upgrade/look elsewhere. Appreciate it. I will take a look at OVH although I'd much prefer to pay < $20 a month instead of > $50 for a Dedicated Server to be honest.
Understandable! Especially once you get started. IMO i suggest building all your mods/themes and whatnot on your local machine. Then pay for a service, then transfer everything
I can suggest Gameservers.com with the coupon code: "2018SALE".
That will give you a dedicated server with 100 slots for about $20.
Do not purchase a dedicated server, you're not ready for one. Start small and grow into it. You will be paying 5-10x the price you need to be paying.
Gameservers provides an extremely easy interface for managing your server, I have used them personally for many games as well as RUST.
But there's a handful of very good server hosts out there for RUST, with a little research you'll easily find them. Consider looking for one that is local to your area.
Appreciate it! And 100% exactly what I was thinking. Starting with a Game Server/Paying for Slots and not a full dedicated server just yet.
