Say you're at a furnace, or smelter or even a grill (multiple slots), wouldn't it be nice to just drag the stack of 1000 ore and have it distributed evenly over the desired slots (some sort of mouse over, highlight, 2 second duration gesture) instead of placing, then dividing then dividing and so on?
it would be a lovely time saver. I can get kind of OCD about stack sizes. I've played on modded servers were they have a plugin that does this for you and it's a very nice feature.
at the very least, the option to actually type in the amount you want to split would be a reasonable compromise.
The best compromise is to drag the slider bar to a tiny amount before the "T" in "set", and that should 2/3rd the stack, then you just halve the remaining larger one and voila.
Of necessity I set the division of the stack at about 1/3 or 1/4 and have 3 or 4 gestures . Not so fun at a furnace. Or, if you want to resuply one, evenly..
It would be nice but in the meantime did you know if you click the stack with middle mouse and drag, it will split the stack in half automatically? That can save a lot of time. You can also right click and drag to move 1 at a time.
