Garry's mod times out after being in server for 5-20 minutes.

Hi, my game times out after connecting and playing a server that I've no problems with for months. It's not an issue with my internet or the server, as I have friends who are connected just fine. I still use discord as normal and access the internet. It's not an issue of ping. My firewall isn't blocking it either, I double checked. It usually takes a couple minutes before I am unable to input any controls and after a moment stuck in time it disconnects me from the server.
Please help!
