Nightly excursions are quite a pain, so it'd be pretty cool to see a flashlight you can "Attach" to your chest (Say, at the expense of a Gear Slot) that functions like a weapon flashlight, but stays on for good. Maybe give it a large, wide halo of light that doesn't reach very far? I hate the thought of taking off a helmet for a miner's hat or something similar, and sometimes weapon flashlights are a pain (switching/reloading/etc).
Roleplayer shit there is basic flashlight already if u need a light
Attach a flashlight to your weapon
Miners hat and candle hat exist.
A miner's hat means you have to remove your helmet, which is a death sentence with an aura of light covering you. It screams "Hey, shoot me in the face". The flashlight in the game has to be held, meaning you don't have a weapon out, and the weapon flashlight follows the weapon, i.e it can sway, lose focus when reloading, go away if you switch to something else (Ever been running in the dark, trying to med, realizing you literally can't see anything?) I'm just thinking of ideas to counter the hellscape that is Rust at night, the ink-black pitch that refuses to let you see anything.
lol rust isnt meant to be easy, if you are travelling at night you have to suffer at a)wearing miner/candle hat and b)carrying a torch/flashlight
I look forward to being able to handle two single handed items at the same time. Pistol and torch, hatchet and syringe, etc.
While I do agree that Rust needs to remain a harsh game, your idea of a clip on light brings up another idea. What if different clothes had slots where things could be attached to? The amount of things that can be placed on a piece of clothing depends on what type of clothes it is. These could include the L shaped clip on flashlight you suggest, a low light level glow stick (to help follow your buds at night), a watch, a compass, etc.
That'd be a nice implementation, Elosan. I'd love pockets/slots for...Well, everything you mentioned. A compass, a watch, etc; would all be useful.
Not a bad idea IMO, I mean... what would stop a denizen of the rust world from duct taping a flashlight onto their weapon? I see nothing wrong with this, and if anything I understand the tactical reasoning for not wanting to opt for 'just a flashlight' or wearing a candlelight helm instead of something with better protection. Surprised with the amount of down-votes tbh.
